Eat-in Table

Project type

commission

Date

3/2023

Location

Tigard, Oregon

This bespoke eat-in kitchen table was a labor of love and a testament to craftsmanship.

The materials used in this project were truly exceptional. A stunning maple cookie, which is a horizontally sliced section of a tree, served as the foundation. The table was supported by a gracefully curved maple base, complemented by steel supports both on the floor and integrated within the tabletop itself. These additional supports were necessary to ensure stability and withstand the weight of both the wood and the remarkable 8 gallons of epoxy used to create the captivating tabletop.

One notable feature is the subtle bevel that gracefully tapers from the outer edge of the underside towards the center, adding a touch of sophistication to the design. It is also worth mentioning that all the wood utilized in this project was meticulously sourced from the same tree, ensuring sustainability and a harmonious aesthetic throughout.

This custom kitchen table stands as a true masterpiece, blending natural beauty, structural integrity, and a commitment to eco-conscious practices. It serves as a captivating centerpiece in any dining space, inviting both functionality and admiration for its exquisite craftsmanship.
